As Divine beings, we each have the creative spark within us. However, it is up to each individual to nurture this spark with self-confidence and persistence, and allow it to blossom to its true potential. So recently, at a Young Adult satsang it was rewarding to see one of our activities accomplish just this.

What's in a WordThe activity was simple and innovative. Using a volume of Sathya Sai Speaks, we randomly selected a page, paragraph, line, and word number. Then, we all took one minute to create a poem using that word, with no restrictions on length or style of poetry. We then exchanged papers and read the poems aloud to the group, trying to guess who may have written them, and searched for the inner meaning in each poem.

A
ll of our members enjoyed this activity- since there was no "right answer" and the atmosphere was relaxed and open, everyone was able to stretch their creative potential. We realized that our limitations are only in our minds, and Divine creativity is inherent in each of us. We also discovered that when we tap into this Divine spark, our self-confidence grows, too. Although the tone of the poems ranged from introspective to humorous, they all had something in common: the head was the guide, the hands were the instruments, and the heart was the source.
