I offer my humble salutations at the lotus feet of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, without whom my life would be empty. Only through His love and grace have I overcome the ups and downs of life. His teachings are helping me to mould my character. The power in His words is the secret to transformation in this lifetime. As a child, I was fortunate to be brought up with strong family and spiritual values. My parents taught us to respect all religions and races. They told us that the human race was one big family and that we were all one. |

I was introduced to Sathya Sai Education in Human Values during my teenage years by my aunt. I remember learning quotations, songs and stories on various values. We had fun serving the local community. Swami had planted this seed so early in my life, that now, through His grace, it is beginning to blossom. After finishing my studies in 1997, I decided to go to the Sathya Sai School in Zambia to do service. I was again exposed to SSEHV, though this time it was in practice. We had spiritual discourses every day by Dr.Victor Kanu, currently the Director of the African Institute of SSEHV. All teachers would teach the SSEHV programme and integrate it into the whole of school life. This year proved to be a turning point in my life. In 1998, I returned to the U.K. and completed the SSEHV course run by Mrs. Carole Alderman, who is the UK SSEHV Co-ordinator. It was a mind-blowing experience. An intense love developed amongst the participants of the course and I began to understand the essence of the programme. |

In 1999, I returned to Zambia again to serve for a short time. Bhagavan had brought me back in time for the launch of the African Institute of SSEHV and in January 2000, I was fortunate to start Bhagavan's SSEHV diploma. Besides teaching at the school and applying SSEHV in the classroom, I again had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in this programme. An intense six months followed, with teaching full time from Monday to Saturday and doing the SSEHV diploma in the evenings and during weekends. On top of the demanding schoolwork, we had presentations and coursework to prepare for the Institute. |

It was a fantastic experience. Bhagavan was again adding another layer to my foundation, making me stronger and allowing my mind to open further. With Dr. Kanu's wealth of wisdom and applying the lessons learnt in the programme to the class, I gained so much. In September 2000, a dream came true. As a member of the African Institute of SSEHV, I received the SSEHV diploma from Bhagavan's hands. As I bowed down to take paadnamaskar (touching the feet), I was in heaven. Coming up to meet Swami's eyes, it felt like an eternity. My heart melted as I gazed into His radiant eyes. In ecstasy, I somehow floated back to my seat and joined the other diploma holders. What had I done in this lifetime to deserve such grace? Nothing, that's for sure. Words fail to express my gratitude to Swami, but I know He does not want our thanks. The only way to repay such grace is to dedicate my life to Bhagavan. I pledge to serve our Lord to the best of my ability. SSEHV
is universal and is accepted all over the world. SSEHV can help transform
the world. Allow the programme to enter your life and let it pour from
your hearts. Integrate it into all you do and let your conscience guide
you. Through SSEHV, humanity can realise the divinity within. |
